Gorditas

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Masa Harina
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • Water (lukewarm), as needed
  • 1 1/2 cups Longhorn cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Enchilada sauce
  • Cheese, lettuce and onions

Instructions

  1. Combine dry ingredients. Add enough water to make a dough — not too stiff and not too runny. Form into balls, then flatten into 3-inch diameter and 1/4-inch thick patties.
  2. Fry patties in hot oil until golden brown.
  3. Serve with enchilada sauce.
  4. Garnish with cheese, lettuce and onions.
