Granny's Meat Loaf


  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon sage
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard


  1. In bowl combine eggs and milk; stir in bread crumbs, onion, parsley, sage and pepper. Add ground beef. Thoroughly mix. Shape meat into a loaf or spoon into a mold.
  2. Bake at 350 degrees F for 50 minutes.
  3. Spoon off fat. Glaze top of loaf with ketchup, brown sugar or maple syrup and mustard mixture.
  4. Bake an additional 10 minutes.
