Pistachio Fluff Torte

Ingredients

  • 1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow butter flavor cake mix*
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 small box instant pistachio pudding
  • 1 pint whipping cream, whipped
  • Pineapple tidbits
  • Miniature marshmallows
  • Maraschino cherries

Instructions

  1. Bake cake according to package directions using two 8 or 9 inch round pans. Cool completely.
  2. Mix pudding and cream cheese well. Beat in whipping cream.
  3. Cut each cake horizontally in half. Place first layer on serving plate. Top with 1/4 of the pudding mix, then top with tidbits and marshmallows. Repeat layers ending with pudding mix. Garnish with maraschino cherries.

Notes

* 18.25 ounce boxes of cake mix have been replaced by 16.5 ounce and 15.25 ounce boxes. To compensate for the volume loss in a 16 ounce box, whisk 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour into the dry cake mix before proceeding with the recipe. To compensate for the volume loss in a 15.25 ounce box, add 1/2 cup + 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon baking powder.
