Pistachio Fluff Torte
Ingredients
- 1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow butter flavor cake mix*
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 small box instant pistachio pudding
- 1 pint whipping cream, whipped
- Pineapple tidbits
- Miniature marshmallows
- Maraschino cherries
Instructions
- Bake cake according to package directions using two 8 or 9 inch round pans. Cool completely.
- Mix pudding and cream cheese well. Beat in whipping cream.
- Cut each cake horizontally in half. Place first layer on serving plate. Top with 1/4 of the pudding mix, then top with tidbits and marshmallows. Repeat layers ending with pudding mix. Garnish with maraschino cherries.
Notes
* 18.25 ounce boxes of cake mix have been replaced by 16.5 ounce and 15.25 ounce boxes. To compensate for the volume loss in a 16 ounce box, whisk 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour into the dry cake mix before proceeding with the recipe. To compensate for the volume loss in a 15.25 ounce box, add 1/2 cup + 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon baking powder.
