Gingerbread Waffles


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/5 cup molasses
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil


  1. Sift the flour, ginger, baking soda, baking powder and salt into a medium bowl and mix well.
  2. Beat the eggs in a medium bowl until blended.
  3. Add the sugar, beating until creamy.
  4. Add the buttermilk, molasses and oil. Beat until blended.
  5. Stir in the flour mixture until smooth.
  6. Bake in a waffle iron using manufacturer's directions.
  7. Serve with butter and syrup or as a dessert with whipped cream.
