Apple-Cheddar Crisp





  1. Combine 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a large bowl; mix well.
  2. Add apples; toss to coat well.
  3. Spoon into an 8-inch square glass baking dish.
  4. For the topping, mix 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, 1/3 cup flour, oats and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon in a medium bowl.
  5. Cut in butter or margarine with pastry blender or fork until mixture is crumbly.
  6. Stir in walnuts.
  7. Sprinkle evenly over apple mixture in pan.
  8. Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 45 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden-brown.
  9. Top with cheese; let stand for 30 minutes before serving.
  10. Serve warm or at room temperature.
