Pepperoni Cheese Pie

Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 (3 1/2 ounce) package Hormel sliced pepperoni
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Dash of ground black pepper
  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pastry shell*

* If using frozen shell, use deep dish shell.

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cook onion and bell pepper in butter until tender.
  3. Cut half of pepperoni slices into fourths.
  4. Toss onion, bell pepper, pepperoni and cheese with flour.
  5. Add milk, eggs and seasonings. Pour into prepared pastry shell.
  6. Gently place remaining pepperoni slices around edge of pie.
  7. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until set.
  8. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
