Amish Meat Balls

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 3/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients. Shape into balls the size of walnuts. Brown in 1/4 cup vegetable oil.
  2. Remove meat balls and make gravy.
  3. Return meatballs to gravy. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. Meat Ball Gravy: Stir 1/4 cup flour, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper into hot fat in skillet.
  5. Stir in 2 cups boiling water and 3/4 cup sour cream.

Makes 6 to 8 servings.
