Amish Slaw

Ingredients

Slaw

  • 1 medium head (4 pounds) cabbage
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

Dressing

  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 3/4 cup oil

Instructions

Slaw

  1. Shred cabbage and onion; add sugar and let stand.

Dressing

  1. Combine all ingredients and bring to a boil for 3 minutes. Let cool.
  2. Add to cabbage mixture.
  3. Refrigerate overnight.

Notes

This will keep for a long time.
