Dutch Apple Cake

Ingredients

Cake

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 cups diced apples
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Topping

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cake: Combine sugar, eggs, oil, flour, salt, baking soda and cinnamon.
  2. Fold in apples.
  3. Pour into a greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
  4. Topping: Mix sugar and cinnamon together. Sprinkle on top of batter.
  5. Sprinkle pecans on top and bake at 325 degrees F for 40 to 50 minutes.
