Pie Crust

  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 egg
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 cups shortening
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup water


  1. Mix together salt, vinegar and egg; set aside.
  2. Mix together flour, shortening, sugar and water, then add the egg/vinegar mixture.
  3. Roll into a ball and chill for about 30 minutes.

Yields 1 double pie crust and 1 single crust.

Can be frozen.
