Amish Sour Cream Cornbread

This is the best cornbread I have ever eaten!

Amish Sour Cream Cornbread recipe

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup whole milk

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Add all the dry ingredients to a large bowl and mix well using a whisk.
  3. Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Using a spoon, mix until just blended.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan, spreading evenly.
