Tex-Mex Tacos 2
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 pound ground beef
Fresh or canned tomatoes, finely chopped
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Sauté onion and garlic in oil until soft.
Add ground beef and cook until browned.
Add tomatoes, oregano, salt and pepper. Cook for 10 minutes until a little thick. This makes the filling which is placed in taco shell and topped with shredded onion, lettuce and cheddar cheese.
Taco sauce is poured over cheese, if desired.
