Tex-Mex Tacos 2



  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • Fresh or canned tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper


  1. Sauté onion and garlic in oil until soft.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Add tomatoes, oregano, salt and pepper. Cook for 10 minutes until a little thick. This makes the filling which is placed in taco shell and topped with shredded onion, lettuce and cheddar cheese.
  4. Taco sauce is poured over cheese, if desired.
