Cajun and Creole Recipes
Cajun Martini
Ingredients
- 1 fresh cayenne or jalapeño pepper
- 1 unopened fifth gin or vodka
- Dry vermouth
- Pickled green tomatoes, okra or eggplant (on wooden picks)
Instructions
- Slice pepper in half lengthwise without cutting stem and put in newly opened bottle of gin or vodka. Fill remaining airspace with vermouth and recap bottle.
- Refrigerate for 8 to 16 hours.
- Remove pepper and store bottle in refrigerator until ready to use.
- To serve, fill pitcher with ice and pour in martini. Strain into serving glasses. Garnish with pickled veggies on picks.
