Cajun and Creole Recipes
Louisiana Smoky Sauce
Yield: 1 quart
Ingredients
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup each chopped celery, onion, parsley, green bell pepper and tomato
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Liquid Smoke
- 1 teaspoon each crumbled dried basil, marjoram and oregano
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 4 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook uncovered over medium heat until reduced to 1 quart, about 30 minutes.
