Louisiana Smoky Sauce



  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup each chopped celery, onion, parsley, green bell pepper and tomato
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Liquid Smoke
  • 1 teaspoon each crumbled dried basil, marjoram and oregano
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons butter

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook uncovered over medium heat until reduced to 1 quart, about 30 minutes.

Yield: 1 quart
