Fried Grits Patties


  • 1/3 cup grits
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups vegetable oil
  • Paper towels


  1. Prepare grits according to the package directions.
  2. Stir in flour, salt, pepper and egg; mix well.
  3. In a skillet, Drop tablespoonsful into hot oil, then flatten slightly with a spatula, and brown on both sides.
  4. Drain on paper towels.

Makes 4 servings.
