Fried Okra with Tomatoes and Onions

Fried Okra


  • 2 slices bacon
  • 1 pound sliced okra
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 10 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • Kosher salt and pepper, to taste


  1. Fry bacon crisp. Remove from skillet and drain.
  2. Fry okra in bacon drippings.
  3. Add onion. Cook until tender.
  4. Add tomatoes; stir well.
  5. Add bacon and salt and pepper. Cover and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes.
