Greasy Rice



  • 2 cups gravy/drippings*
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Kosher or sea salt to taste


  1. Pour leftover stock, water and salt into a saucepan.
  2. Bring the stock and water to a boil. When water is boiling, add rice, reduce the heat, and put the lid on the pan. Let cook for about 20 minutes.
  3. As soon as it's done, remove from the heat.

* from baked ham, roast beef, roast chicken, etc.
