Southern Biscuit Pudding

  • 6 cold biscuits
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk


  1. Soak crumbled biscuits in hot water for a few minutes
  2. Add sugar, butter, nutmeg, raisins, beaten eggs, and milk, mixing after each addition.
  3. Pour into greased black cast iron pan.
  4. Bake in preheated 350 degrees F oven for about 30 to 40 minutes, or until browned.
