Trifle Fruit Salad

Ingredients

Salad

  • 2 small cans mandarin oranges
  • 3 or 4 bananas, sliced
  • 1 to 1 1/2 quarts strawberries
  • 1 (15 ounce) can pineapple chunks
  • 4 or 5 kiwi, sliced

Topping

  • 1 1/4 cups milk or fruit juice
  • 1 (3 3/4 ounce) box instant pudding mix
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained (optional)

Instructions

  1. Using a trifle bowl, layer fruits, starting with oranges.
  2. Add bananas, then pineapple.
  3. Slice strawberries over pineapple.
  4. Cover with topping and place kiwi on top.
  5. In a medium bowl, combine milk or juice and sour cream; blend well.
  6. Add pudding mix, beating until well blended.
  7. Stir in crushed pineapple, if desired.
  8. Spoon pudding mixture over fruit within 1 inch of the edge.
  9. Cover and refrigerate for several hours to blend flavors.
