Pizza Bread Salad

Pizza crust is tossed with your favorite pizza toppings. This cool green salad is perfect when you crave pizza on a hot day.

Pizza Bread Salad

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fat-free Italian dressing
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh or 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
  • 1 (10 ounce) bag hearts of romaine lettuce, torn into bite-size pieces
  • 1 (8 inch) prebaked Italian pizza crust (from 10 ounce package), cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 25 slices turkey pepperoni (2 ounces), chopped
  • 1 large tomato, coarsely chopped (1 cup)
  • 1 (4 ounce) piece mozzarella cheese, cut into 1/2-inch cubes

Instructions

  1. In small bowl, mix dressing and basil; set aside.
  2. In large bowl, toss remaining ingredients.
  3. Pour dressing over salad mixture; toss to coat well.
  4. Serve immediately.

Notes

Using ingredients such as turkey pepperoni and mozzarella cheese creates a side dish that's lower in fat without compromising the taste.

Use a kitchen scissors to easily cut the pizza crust into bite size pieces.
