Garlic Beans



  • 1 or 2 cans French-cut or whole green beans
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 5 cloves garlic, cut in half
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  1. Drain beans; place in casserole with onion and garlic. Sprinkle with sugar; let stand for 2 to 3 hours.
  2. Blend remaining ingredients; pour over beans. Cover; refrigerate for 24 hours.
  3. Drain before serving.

Yield: 10 to 12 servings
