Buffet Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 5 (16 ounce) cans whole green beans (don't drain)
  • 1/2 pound bacon
  • 1 large sweet onion, chopped
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 3/4 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Fry bacon in a large skillet and remove to paper towels to drain.
  2. Sauté onion in bacon grease until transparent.
  3. Dissolve vinegar and sugar together; pour into onions and bring to a boil.
  4. Add green beans and liquid. Cook down until beans are tender. Add a little water if needed.
