Garlic Oven Fries

Lower in fat than French fries, these red potato wedges are yummy with any meal!

Garlic Oven Fries

Prep: 10 min | Total: 30 min | Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 medium red potatoes (2 1/2 to 3 inch), each cut into 8 wedges*
  • 2 teaspoons olive or vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 500 degrees F.
  2. Spray 15 x 10 x 1 inch pan with cooking spray.
  3. In medium bowl, toss potatoes with oil to coat.
  4. Sprinkle with basil and garlic salt.
  5. Arrange in single layer in baking pan.
  6. Bake uncovered for 15 to 18 minutes, stirring once, until potatoes are tender but crisp on outside.

Notes

* Red potatoes have a slightly waxy texture and retain their shape better when cooked than russet potatoes do.
