Scalloped Tomatoes


  • 4 fresh tomatoes, cut up
  • 2 cups bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup onion, minced
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • Few grains cayenne pepper


  1. Drain tomatoes.
  2. Put with crumbs into a buttered baking dish.
  3. Dot with butter.
  4. Sprinkle with onion, sugar and seasonings.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes, until golden brown on top.
