Sweet and Sour Onions


  • 6 onions
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Slice onions 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Place in casserole with tight lid.
  3. Add other ingredients.
  4. Bake for one hour covered and 1/2 to 1 hour uncovered at 350 degrees F.

Serves 4 to 6.
