Tomato Pudding

Very simple and wonderful! I always include this easy dish at all holiday meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup tomato purée
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cups bread cubes
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. Combine brown sugar, tomato purée and water in saucepan and cook 5 minutes.
  2. While mixture is cooking, put bread cubes in a shallow casserole, pour melted butter over, and add tomato mixture.
  3. Bake for 50 minutes at 325 degrees F.

Notes

I always double or triple. For best results use a shallow casserole.
