Taco Soup

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 (16 ounce) can pinto or chili beans
  • 1 (16 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 envelope dry taco seasoning mix
  • 4 ounces diced green chiles
  • Garnishes

Instructions

  1. Brown meat and onion. Add beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, taco seasoning and chiles. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  2. Garnish with any or all of the following: sliced avocado, shredded Cheddar cheese, sliced scallion, sliced black olives, corn chips and sour cream.
