Packer Stew

Ingredients

  • 2 to 2 1/2 pounds round steak, trimmed and cut into small pieces
  • 1 (17 ounce) can peas, drained
  • 4 small onions, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons tapioca
  • 1 slice white bread, cubed
  • 1 (4 ounce) can chopped mushrooms, drained
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups carrots, diced
  • 3 to 4 large potatoes, diced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can whole tomatoes
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large roaster. Cover tightly with foil.
  2. Bake at 250 degrees F for 5 hours.
