Tomato Consommé

Ingredients

  • 4 cups tomato juice
  • 2 cans undiluted condensed consommé
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1/2 bay leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Dash of basil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • Few celery tops
  • Few parsley sprigs

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together; bring to boil, then simmer for 30 minutes.
  2. Strain through cheesecloth.
  3. Reheat and serve with slice of orange in each bowl.
