Sourdough Sugar Cookies

Yield: 24 cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sourdough Starter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 tablespoons cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, shortening and cream.
  2. Add eggs, vanilla extract, salt and sourdough.
  3. Fold in flour and baking powder.
  4. Roll out on a lightly floured board; cut with knife into 1/4 inch slices.
  5. Sprinkle with sugar.
  6. Bake on cookie sheet at 350 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes.
