Fried Corn Cakes
Ingredients
- 6 cups cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups sour milk or buttermilk
- Water, as needed
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients, adding just enough water to make of the right consistency
— a very heavy batter.
- Fry in hot oil in skillet. Turn to brown other side.
Notes
Delicious with ranch beans.
Can be eaten cold or hot.
