  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1 1/4 ounces (2 tablespoons) taco seasoning
  • 3/4 cup water

Crust

  • 1 7/8 cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1/4 ounce fast rising yeast
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons chopped onions
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2/3 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup corn chips, crushed

Toppings

  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup lettuce
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped tomatoes

Instructions

Filling

  1. Brown ground beef with 1/2 cup onion. Add taco seasoning and 3/4 cup water. Simmer for 25 minutes.

Crust

  1. In medium bowl, combine 1 cup flour, yeast, sugar, onion, and salt; mix well. Add very warm water (120 to 130 degrees F) and oil to flour mixture. Mix by hand until almost smooth. Stir in corn chips and enough remaining flour to make a stiff batter. Spread in well-greased 10 inch pie pan, forming a rim around edge. Cover; let rise in warm place, about 10 minutes with quick rise yeast, 20 minutes for regular yeast.
  2. Spread meat over dough.
  3. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes, until edge is crisp and light golden brown.

Toppings

  1. Sprinkle on toppings.
