Date Balls



  • 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups margarine
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts
  • 1 1/3 cups chopped dates

  1. Combine flour and salt; sift twice.
  2. Cream the margarine and gradually add sugar.
  3. Add milk and vanilla extract.
  4. Stir in sifted flour.
  5. Blend in dates and nuts. Roll into 1-inch balls. Place on an ungreased baking sheet.
  6. Bake at 300 degrees F for about 20 minutes or until light brown.
