Jalapeño Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 2 to 3 jalapeño chiles, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Brush grill rack with vegetable oil. Heat coals or gas grill for direct heat.
  2. Mix all ingredients. Shape mixture into 6 patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Grill patties uncovered about 4 inches from MEDIUM heat 8 to 12 minutes, turning once, until no longer pink in center and juice is clear.

Yield: 6 servings
