Tofu Burgers 2


  • 30 ounces tofu
  • 1/3 cup grated carrot
  • 1/4 cup minced leeks, scallions or onions
  • 2 tablespoons ground sesame, sunflower, peanuts or other nuts
  • Oil (for frying)


  1. Cut tofu into slices; squeeze slices between toweling to dry.
  2. Combine tofu, carrot, leeks and seeds or nuts. Knead about 3 minutes. When dough is smooth, moisten palms with oil and shape into patties.
  3. Fry in oiled pan until crisp and brown.
  4. Serve on buns with lettuce, tomato and sprouts, sprinkled with soy sauce.
