Asian Black Bean Sauce



  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 2 tablespoons fermented black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch


  1. Heat a wok or heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add the oil, the black beans and garlic. Stir-fry about 12 seconds.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and stir-fry about 1 minute or until sauce thickens.
