Blueberry Kuchen

Ingredients

Kuchen

  • 2 cups unbleached flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups blueberries

Streusel Topping

  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  2. Cream butter and sugar in large bowl.
  3. Beat in egg until blended. Add flour mixture and milk; stir just until moistened.
  4. Fold in blueberries.
  5. Turn into a buttered and floured 9-inch springform pan.
  6. Sprinkle with Streusel Topping.
  7. Bake at 375 degrees F for 45 to 50 minutes. If top begins to brown too quickly, cover with foil.
  8. Streusel Topping: Stir together brown sugar, flour and cinnamon.
  9. Cut in butter with pastry blender.
  10. Stir in walnuts.
