German Red Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons vinegar
  • 4 cups shredded cabbage (about 1 head)

Instructions

  1. Fry bacon.
  2. Add onion and sauté slightly.
  3. Add brown sugar and vinegar.
  4. Add cabbage and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.

Makes 12 servings.
