Hazelnut Crescents


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of baking powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 7 ounces butter
  • 1 1/4 cups ground hazelnuts
  • Confectioners' sugar


  1. Sift dry ingredients onto table. Make well in center and add vanilla extract, egg yolks, butter and nuts; work flour mixture with hands.
  2. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
  3. Form into 1-inch pieces and shape into crescents, tapering ends.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes.
  5. Roll in confectioners' sugar.
