Snickerdoodles

A favorite in German homes!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.
  2. Sift dry ingredients into first mixture.
  3. Roll dough into walnut-size balls.
  4. Mix cinnamon and sugar together. Roll balls in cinnamon-sugar.
  5. Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes.
