Fried Rags

  • 1 quart vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt


  1. Mix flour, shortening and eggs; roll dough out very thin; cut into strips and tie into bow knots; fry in hot oil.
  2. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
