Cracked Wheat Pilaf
(Bulgur Pilav — Turkey)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup bulgur (cracked wheat)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 1/4 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons instant beef or chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cook and stir bulgur and onion in butter until onion is tender.
  2. Stir in remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer until bulgur is tender but firm, 20 to 25 minutes.

Yield: 6 servings
