Pork and Chicken Adobo

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 pieces bay leaf
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 to 2 pound chicken, cut up
  • 1 pound pork, cut into 1 x 2-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. In saucepan, combine all ingredients, except water.
  2. Marinate chicken and pork in the mixture for 20 minutes.
  3. Add water and let it simmer, until tender (about 25 minutes).
  4. Strain sauce.
  5. Brown meat.
  6. Return to saucepan, simmer until sauce thickens.

Makes 4 to 6 servings.
