Swedish Pound Cake

Ingredients

Cake

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 cups flour, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 (6 ounce) package chocolate chips

Glaze

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 stick butter

Instructions

  1. Grease and flour a Bundt pan.
  2. Cream margarine and sugar.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time. Blend well.
  4. Add remaining ingredients, and pour into the prepared Bundt pan.
  5. Bake for 1 hour at 325 degrees F.
  6. Pour glaze over hot cake, and cool thoroughly in pan.
  7. Swedish Pound Cake Glaze: Boil sugar and water for 3 minutes.
  8. Add almond extract and butter. Blend well.
