Family Favorites Cookie Recipes

  • Big Mama's Teacakes — This favorite cookie recipe came from a country magazine many years ago.
  • Cherry Top Hats
  • Delta Bars
  • Fattigman photo — This is a crisp Norwegian cookie. This recipe belonged to my step-Dad, Leo, a Norwegian, born and raised in Winona, Minnesota.
  • Hello Dolly Bars photo
  • Joe Froggers photo — Joe Froggers were first created by a Marblehead, Massachusetts, character called Uncle Joe, who lived on the edge of a frog pond. He made the best molasses cookies in town, and they were called Joe Froggers because they were as large as the lily pads frogs sat on and as dark as the frogs in the pond.
  • Mexican Wedding Cookies photo — These Mexican Wedding Cookies (Russian Tea Cakes) also make an appearance during the holiday season at our house.
  • Peanut Blossoms photo — This is a wonderful recipe from my sister, Kathryn. Since she's from Georgia, it's a particularly fitting recipe.
  • Raspberry Nut Pinwheels photo — Raspberry lovers will like these delicious cookies. They're wonderful on cookie trays also.
  • Raspberry Rum Brownies photo — If you’re a raspberry lover, these are for you.
  • Rocks — A grand fruit cookie — some like it better than fruit cake. It is best to use just one-quarter or one-half the recipe, or it will fill the house!
  • Root Beer Date Bars
  • Snickerdoodles photo — These are my grandson, Brenden's, favorite cookies. They are also the first cookies he ever helped me make when he was just a little guy!
  • Swedish Rosettes photo When Lisa was young, these were a favorite at our house around Christmas-time.
