Moist Chocolate Cake

Yield: one 8-inch square cake; 9 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • Confectioners' sugar

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients.
  2. Add egg and butter; mix well. Pour into a greased 8-inch square baking pan.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tests done.
  4. Cool.
  5. Dust with confectioners' sugar.
