Camelback Inn Anniversary Bars
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, soft
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 4 eggs, separated
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 24 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- Dash of salt
Instructions
- Cream butter with white sugar and 1/2 cup of the brown sugar. Add 2 egg yolks, flour, vanilla extract and a dash of salt. Mix well. Pat evenly on bottom of buttered and floured 16 x 8 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
- Beat 4 egg whites until stiff enough to hold a peak. Slowly beat in the remaining brown sugar. When glossy and smooth, spread over chips. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in oven preset to 350 degrees F.
- Cut into small squares.
