Olive Garden Black Tie Mousse Cake
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup black coffee
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups confectioners' sugar
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Sift first 6 ingredients together in large bowl. Add eggs, coffee, milk, vegetable oil and the 2 teaspoons vanilla extract; blend until smooth.
- Pour thin batter into a greased 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake for 35 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cream butter until soft and sir in confectioners' sugar, the 1/8 teaspoon salt, the 3 tablespoons milk, and the 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and creamy adding more milk, if necessary.
- Spread over warm cake.
