Shaw House Bed & Breakfast Grits Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw grits
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 box Jiffy cornbread
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 pound sausage
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Add 1 cup raw grits to 4 cups boiling water and 1 teaspoon salt. Let cool.
  2. Sauté 1 pound sausage and drain.
  3. Beat 4 eggs with 1 cup milk.
  4. Add all together with 1 box of Jiffy mix. Put in 13 x 9 inch casserole. Cover all with cheese.
  5. Bake at 325 degrees F for 30 minutes.
