Chocolate Pecan Malted Cookies

Method

  1. Combine shortening, brown sugar, malted milk powder, chocolate syrup and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl. Beat for 2 minutes.
  2. Add eggs and beat for 1 minute.
  3. Combine flour, baking soda and salt.
  4. Gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
  6. Shape into 2-inch balls and place about 3-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake at 375 degrees F for about 10 minutes.
  8. Cool for 5 minutes on baking sheets before moving to wire racks.

Yield: about 3 1/2 dozen cookies
